Lindy Bop Review

I have a new love, it's in the form of a website and their amazing dresses and clothing items.
This post/ review is not sponsored, I discovered the site completely by accident and I bought 3 dresses in their (up to) 70% off sale they had on boxing day/ for January.

First off with Christmas money on boxing day after the Lush sale fail. (see previous post for that horror!) I wanted to make myself feel better so I perused the Lindy Bob Website and found a beautiful 50's style every-day dress In the style "Tara" in Midnight blue.
Original Price was £34.00 (roughly) and it was reduced to £21.99 with free p&p. It arrived within a couple of days and I was so excited to put it on... and i do love it...BUT...because i'm short (5ft2") and I'm quite large busted I had to order it in a size 20 and it was way to long and too big... obviously i wore it regardless as the excess fabric just made the skirt bit feel even more fabulous.

And the only other gripe i had with this dress was that the under-bust seam had loose threads that kept getting caught in the size zip that made it hard to do up...but it's easily fixable....as for the length, I may keep it at this length as it is the shortest of all the dresses I bought and I do quite like the length.
But for the price and the overall quality is just amazing. I love it and have worn it a few times complete with proper 1950's underwear which I have posted over on my Instagram @Sway_pinup. This Midnight Blue "Tara" dress isn't available anymore as far as I can find and there's only a few odd sizes in other fabrics which I will link HERE.
And the other "midnight blue" alternatives I have linked HERE.

Next was a beautiful Tartan or Plaid dress that my Husband convinced me to buy in the style "Grace". Being part Scottish I feel a tad bit patriotic in this... but also a bit stereotypical haha all I need is a Deep-fried mars bar.
As you can see this dress is long, too long on me. It's designed to be just below the knee, but its more mid-to almost ankle length on me. If its filled out with a petticoat it'll take up some of the length but I will need to re-hem it and take it up a good few inches. Again I had to get this in a size 20 to accommodate my Jubblies, but it actually fits quite well around the waist too. The zip is quite long and at the back, which for me is impossible to do up or undo alone...so I actually thread a piece of lace or ribbon through the zip so I can pull the zip up myself, obviously once done up I then take the lace off but here's a picture just as a useful hint for ladies with similar issues.
This dress was £30 Reduced to £17.99. Again with free p&p and arrived in 2-3 days. There's loads of fabric, but the fabric does feel a bit thin. Excellent for spring though. It looks great on and I don't feel like i'm showing off too much boob. This style in this tartan is no longer available but I have linked other Tartan Dresses HERE. And other colour/fabric options for the "Grace"style of dress HERE.

Last but not least is the best of them all...although first off let me say that originally I bought "Violetta" in a nude/ Champaign colour with black Polka dots.
It was stunning and only £9.99 but I bought it in  a size 18 instead of a 20 as I wanted it to be more fitted on the waist...and it was but it didn't do up around the bust at all. Usually in shops like Primark and New Look I'm a size 16 and 18 in some non-stretch tops, so I thought i'd get away with it, but  I ended up having to return the dress and I exchanged it for a slinky wiggle dress my husband also chose in the style "Raven". I bought it in Red and it is also available in Black and Purple too and I think they are all in the sale still. The Red was reduced from £29.99 to just £8.99 WHICH IS INSANE so I ended up actually getting a refund of £1 too, but the Purple and Black colours in the same style are only reduced to £17.99 HERE.
The dress however, as I again had to size up, is too big on the bottom half. I have included images of it with me holding the extra fabric so you can see what it will look like once i have altered it. I also again need to take the length up by about 3/4".

As you can see on the left it fits lovely around the boobs but on the right I've pulled all the spare fabric back so you can see what it'll look like when I've taken off about 2". Proper fitting clothes really do make all the difference in your clothes ladies!

Over all i'm so happy with the items. I guess the alterations for me aren't such a big deal as I am used to having to alter my clothing because of my figure. Larger boobs and a small waist are a bless and a a curse. The Raven dress makes me feel redicilously fab and its my favorite of all of the dresses so far, but i expect there will be more purchases. The have literally just got in all of their new spring lines and spring fabrics and they are drool-worthy. I find the majority of the things i've bought were well-made, fast p&p and their returns policy is easy to work and understand and quick, they keep you up to date and e-mail you and you can track your order via their website if you sign up. They have loads of offers on all the time, amazing clearance prices and adorable matching mother-daughter dresses, and do womens sizes 6-26!!! I think it's safe to say they get a huge thumbs up from this hour-glass short-ass.
XOXO

June/July Faves, what I've been up to, why i've been quiet and HOW MANY VIEWS?!

In simple terms...there have been a lot of issues.
The End.

...But please read on for more!

Smells amazing!
After many job/money issues my partner and I are now moving at the end of the month and downsizing, to a much nicer and may i add Warmer house! Right next to a beautiful park with a river, and when i say next to, i mean literally i can hop over the wall and i'll be in the park! Whoop! so i've been busy packing this month- (as in august) so nothing really interesting to report. BUT, June and July were pretty darn good months! Although we were having to be frugal with spending i did hit up a few charity shops (thrift shops) and found a couple of awesome finds!

I also found this awesome quilted folder, seems to be hand made, or hand-repaired. Its so soft and looks amazing. I love this kind of "weathered" vintage look to things. Its just larger than A4 Size so i've been using it to keep my sketch book in.

Other things i've done the past few months, i've been focusing mainly on beauty or haul related blog posts, and this seems to be what all you guys love! I've had OVER 2000 views on my blog now! Which is INSANE for a small town girl like me, but not only that my Google+ page has been viewed so many times i'm literally blown away! Over 33,000! i tell no lies!

I've been catching up with Supernatural, seems as they are on season 10 now i thought i'd best get up to date! I've been slacking! And in true fan-girl terms this means I've power-watched through from season 1 to 5 in a matter of weeks (around work and packing). and i have also re-discovered my 9 year long obsession with that damn Impala! OMNOMNOM

Also for my sins i discovered the American section in Tesco where i live, i now have an possible incurable addiction to Peanut butter Oreo's.

Sorry things have been so boring! As i said i am moving the end of this month and once i am all moved in i will hopefully begin my Vlog! whoop! especially with my nice shiny  new surroundings! Plus MY BIRTHDAY is the end of the month too so hopefully if I've been good enough i'll have a birthday haul to show you guys too!

March Birchbox

Hey followers! Thanks for checking back, i haven't disappeared i've just been super-busy!

This months Birchbox may well be my last for a few months, and i'm so sad that i'm going out on such an AWESOME BOX. I was kind of hoping it'll follow the usual trend of a few good boxe's and then a rubbish one, but i can safely say Birchbox havent been a let down yet.

Anyway in this months box we had;
NOMS! Thats right this moths boxs' theme was "Good Enough to Eat" and boy it was!!!

This months "Lifestyle Extra" was Propercorn usually £0.90 per bag. I got the flavour Sweet Coconut and Vanilla, they also do Lightly Seasalted, Soured cream and Chive, Fiery Worcester Sauce & Sun-Dried Tomato and Sweet and Salty.
The Coconut and Vanilla Flavour i tried was a bit bland at first, but it was so yummy after a few mouth-fulls. Something i will definetly be buying.

The Balm Cosmetics 'How 'bout them Apples' Cheek and Lip Cream, £26-£32 for full size pallet with all 6 Shades price depending on where you buy it from.
I don't usually use a lot of blush as i spend most of my morning trying to cover up my red cheeks. But this creme adds a nice healthy glow, i found i would use it along with bronzer to add a fresh sun-kissed look to my skin. The fact its a cream also means you can choose the opacity of the product, and its multi use so lip balm and cheek colour. I got mine in the shade "Pie" plus there's some FIT Cowboys to perv at on the inside so the packaging gets a million thumbs up! :p

RMK Make Up Base Soft, silk, smooth and slightly toned, has a really light vanilla smell to it, leaves your skin easy to work with for foundation and concealer base. A tad pricey at £28 but i've used my 15ml sample every day since i got my box at the begning of the month and it's not even half empty, so a good investment. It doesn't leave me with breakouts after either like some primers do, as it's so light i find it doesn't clog up my pours.

Colour Club Nail Polish last month Birchbox sent out and e-mail asking subscribers to choose a nail polish colour from this amazing brand, i choose the pastel green colour called "Breakfast At..." as i understand most people did indeed get the colour they selected and i'm totally in love with it. Of the four colour options (green, blue, gold and white) i choose the green because it was something different for my polish collection. I have a lot of different shades by different brands but they're all mostly warmer reds, pinks, golds browns and blacks, i just love this colour. Only downside, that even with my hardest wearing base and top coat's it still chipped after a day or so. :( £15 for the full set of 4.

Laura Mercier Souffle Body cream is AMAZING that is all...
But seriously i want to eat it. I know i cant and it's such a shame but it smells edible and the scent lasts all day on your skin. £27 for an average size tub, but worth it! I haven't even used a quarter of my sample in 3 weeks so it really lasts. Highly recommend it, everyone's been complimenting me on it.

Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser £13.95. this is my least favorite, i don't like the smell at all, it does the job and leave your skin feeling awesome but i'm not sure i want to put it that close to my nose every day.

So that was all in this Month's Birchbox. As i said i doubt i'll be getting one next month but i have a few awesome things coming up so stay tuned. And as usual dont forget to follow me on
INSTAGRAM -I post here nearly every day.

Primark and New Look haul, plus interesting price differences between AX Paris online and in store....

First things first. I have to address my BARGAIN OF THE DAY:

This is my nude/pink and black Body con dress from AX Paris. Bought in store from New Look. Now as i said in the title, there was a very large price difference when i looked up the dress online to add a link to my blog, on the Offical AX Paris website it is Listed as £40 HERE.
While I luckily enough picked up the Dress for only £16 in the Sale in New Look. I know obviously they have completely different marketing and pricing techniques as obviously New Look buys in AX Paris stuff and sells it for them, like Quiz clothing do as well. But i would have thought that in order to reduce the price of an item from an outside label it would have to be instructed by the label's owner, and then they too would match the price, as what is stopping someone from buying the £16 one from New Look, taking off the New Look tag and taking it back to AX Paris to get a £40 refund... Or am i the only one who thinks bad people would do things like this...
ANYWAY moving on, i also bought a small bag to match from New Look, It's literally the perfect match, with a beautiful Gold chain strap, this was £12.99 brand new.
I'm so happy with this outfit when i put it on, all i need now are some shoes. Oh i should probably add it's for a friends wedding in april so i deliberetly went for similar or matching items, and the longer sleeves were just a plus for me, because as much as i like showing off my Tattoos i find my upper arms are a problem area for me and i like to hide them when there are cameras about.

Also in the New Look sale i FINALLY got my hands on a FLUFFY JUMPER>>> Not the Pale blue cropped Top Shop one I wanted, but when on a budget you have to say No sometimes. Especially at those prices. This one is just as soft, bigger and slightly baggier but i love the fit. I couldn't decide between the cream or the burgandy colour, in the end i bought the darker, simply because when i'm eating, food seems to be attracted to my breasts, and i'm less likely to stain a dark plum one.
That was £12, and i bought it in size bigger as i like to layer my jumpers and not feel too resticted. Because of how wide the neck is it looks lush with a shirt on underneath and the collar peaking through.
Final thing from New Look in the sale again were these amazing little Candy-Skull nail wraps that were only £1! Amazing! So far they've lasted 3 days with minimal chipping, and i've still done my usual day-to-day cleaning and washing up. So well worth the money!

Next are a couple of bits from Primark;
First of all these skinny, faux leather trousers. If you've followed me on previuos blogs you'll know i'm a sucker for leather but i never used to wear it as i'm a size 16 i had it drummed into my head that i was "too big". But sod it! I now own two pairs of faux leather trousers, and when i pass my bike licence i'll be in leather a hell of a lot more.

Then i saw this, and if you know me at all, even just a tad, you'll know that ANYTHING with My Little Pony on is MINE! It's like one of a few things i can remember vividly and fondly from when i was younger. When it first came into fashion and everyone was going on about "retro" My Little Pony items and i just complained, i didn't want to share my "thing" with anyone. Obviously it's not exclusivly MINE but you get what i mean. I didn't want my quirky little thing to become everyones fashion statement, but i take it all back. It's so much easier to find MLP items now!

I also own the white t-shirt they had of MLP, back in August. Next on the agenda is their MLP pyjamas! Muwahahaha!

And last but not least i had to add on this little Geisha Make up bag i bought from a charity shop, still brand new, never used had it's tags on it. And was only £1.75! So pretty and the colours are amazing.

As usual thank you all for reading my lovlies! And thank you so much for all your support so far! Already! It's been a crazy two months back on the scene!
Don't forget to add me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Perfume Favorites.

I only realised the other day, after watching one of Leanne Lim-Walkers Amazing hauls and seeing her 'scent', that I always say (when asked) that i don't have a "smell", i.e. a perfume that others will smell and think of me... But actually I do, and really it's a few; 90% of the time i use Very Irresistabe by Givenchy. It's a perfume I first saw advertised when I was in 6th Form (a-levels/college) , and the face of the perfume was Liv Tyler, my (at the time) idol. She was a cute but sexy girl-next door she-elf...and I wanted to be her, even if it was more like a chocolate enthusiast version!

It was, and still is, quite expensive at around £35-£60 a bottle depending on size. I recently bought it in a gift set with some moisturiser too for £35.50 with my christmas money, it really is something I can safely say I see as a luxury item for myself as I usually only get it for special occasions as a present, as it is so expensive. I also realised, when I was 17 I was wearing this as my EVERYDAY perfume! And thats crazy! Not only is it a designer name but it's pricey and smelling it now; it was far too mature for me back then. It has a wonderful warm, almost spiced floral smell, it is stunning.

Other Perfumes i've had include Christina Aguilera's by Day and by Night. Both of which are amazing! They don't seem to last as long though, but also arent as pricey at around £20 a bottle. Personally the best out of the two is the By Night, it smells of cherrys... almost edible. But I have run out of that one. So at the moment i dont have a daily one.

link; HERE

Although... i do have 'Noir' from Ann Summers, it's a werid smell to explain, it contains feremones so you're more attractive apparently...or sensual. Personally I'm not convinced... although it does have a special something as it does smell different on every single person i've seen try it! That is about £15 from Either Ann Summers store, online or via a rep. It's actualy on sale for £10 online now link; HERE
I don't think it's suitable for every day use. But i'd reccomend you at least try it!

So i'm in the market for a new every-day perfume...any suggestions? Also what is YOUR scent?
I think day-to day i'll just be smothering myself in coconut body oil!
